Spam Scam or Ham congratulate me I've just one the UK National Lottery sweepstake but not the real one

What is the point of spam and what are the benefits to those who send it. I am receiving so much spam at the moment, I guess just like the rest of you. It makes me wonder what the benefit of sending it out is.

The latest one Not Viagra Not stocks and share or even handbags and watches No nothing that trivial, can you guess, then congratulate me because I’m a lucky winner of the UK National Lottery that I never even entered.

Is it spam or is it a scam.

Whatever it is I guess my bank account will still have the same balance this time next week as I have no intention of sending back the validation form required to stake my claim.

Nope they wont be receiving my details or even
name of my beneficiary,
residential address,
date and place of birth,
phone/fax numbers,
name and address of my next of kin,
sex (definitely not),
occupation (they should get another one),
my marital status,
my nationality
and I guess from the following part of the validation form, something that would be requested in the next email I receive, my bank details.

To anyone reading this who is entering the real UK national lottery I wish you the very best luck. Email me if you win and I will send you my details and claim validation ha ha.

Spam Scam or Ham or even Humbug, Winner of the UK National Sweepstake Lottery, I don’t think so.
